Parents

Wen's entry today about parenting and the little moments that make it all worthwhile got me to thinking.

Eespecially in light of this amazing new book that I picked up at the library today. It has sucked me in, and I am pausing only long enough to post a blogging tag/ challenge and to fill my lungs before plunging back in for more.

In Lani Diane Rich's novel "Ex and the Single Girl" she writes

"It doesn't matter who your parents are or how wealthy or sick or ambivalent your realtionship with them is, they will always be the most powerful people in your life. They will be the ones whose approval you will always crave. They will be the ones who hold the power to elate or crush you with a word....your parents will always be the people who juggle knives over your heart. If you're lucky, they'll know it and juggle carefully."

Talk amongst yourselves...I'll post my own observations later.
